SPURS GIVE DONATES $10,000 TO ROOM REDUX FOR THE SAN ANTONIO AREA
Employees Volunteer to Redecorate and Transform Rooms to Help Children of Abuse Heal
SAN ANTONIO (Sept. 8, 2021) – Spurs Give today announced a $10,000 donation to the Room Redux San Antonio chapter. This donation will help fund the cost to redecorate children’s bedrooms in the San Antonio and South Central Texas area who have faced abuse.
Founded in 2018, Room Redux coordinates with caregivers, caseworkers, counselors and volunteers to transform the rooms of children who have endured trauma with the goal of fostering a safe space where they can heal. Each Room Transformation is specific to the child’s interests and strengths to provide a safe and healthy living space.
“We are all incredibly grateful for the generosity of Spurs Give,” said Susie Vybiral, Founder and CEO for Room Redux. “This fabulous collaboration and donation will transform not only the rooms of children who have faced abuse and trauma, but the lives of children in our community. Spurs Give is truly making a difference in these children’s lives through their donation and volunteer time at Room Transformations. With this donation, Spurs Give is funding Room Transformations for five resilient children. Each will be supported by employee volunteers as they decorate and create these custom bedrooms for children to thrive, with the first one recently completed.
“Spurs Give hopes to further the healing and life changing work Room Redux is doing to give children who have experienced abuse a new safe space that they will enjoy,” said Joe Clark, Vice President, Youth Sports and Community Engagement for SS&E. “A paint color might not seem like much, but by ridding the child’s bedroom of unhealthy memories and triggers, we’re helping them with one more step in their journey to recovery.”
